Japan is known as the Land of The Swords and Japanese were the people who are skillful craftsman and swordsmen who now the art of perfection. The art of Sword making was the work of the mountain monks and this was later passed on t the blacksmiths of Japan and they carried it on for generations to generations. Making swords in ancient Japan was a very sacred work as the priest had to wear their divinely robes and would cleanse themselves by sprinkling the holy water and prayed to God for their success in their task of making these word . These people didn’t work alone and many people helped them in making swords.

After making the sword there are other people who are skilled in the craft of sharpening the blade and polishing it so that it would be really exquisite and unique. All this was done by hand. People also make sword with wood and they are called Bokken and these sword are mainly used for martial arts practice.

Togishi:

Modern Days Sword Sharpeners are called Togishi and they are skillful craftsman who know how to deliver you the goods in perfect conditions. Togishi is a skillful craftsman that has all the knowledge of Japans’ culture and tradition and polishes and sharpens the sword according to the period and style the blade is designed.

Handling Samurai Japanese Swords:

Handling the samurai swords is a very skillful task as they are specially designed to cut flesh and they are also sensitive to human skin and because of these contacts can turn into rusts. So its best to use a white cloth to wipe the stains from the blade otherwise the sharpness of the blade will be affected. But people who decorate their Samurai swords in the home don’t require to be sharpened and they just need to be rust free so that the moisture doesn’t spoil its polish.

Things that are required to sharpen and polish Samurai Swords are:

Sharpening Kit:

These kits can be easily brought from any store and it contains all the necessary tools that are required to sharpen and maintain the sword.

Sandpaper:

The sand paper is made from coarse fine grit and sued to rub on the sword before sharpening it.

Oils:

The oil helps to keep the sword rust and dust free.

Japanese Water Stones:

These stones are used to sharpen the blade and they are two types. One is the natural one and they are very expensive so people usually use the artificial ones as they are cheaper and you have to wet these stones before sharpening and rubbing the sword blades.

Grit:

This is used to measure the abrasiveness on the sword.

The history of the Japans swords dates back to very early days when swords were designed simply in a straight way. But through the period the art of sword making developed and new techniques were used to design it that was brought from China. The ancient people of Japan also used wooden swords to defend them selves. Amakunia a Japanese smith, according to ancient legends was the one who invented the sword and by the 10th century the folded steel process was used to design the single edged sword. And with changing times the design and the curve of the blade changed and tended to move up the blade. The sword was a warriors pride when he rode on horseback and fought wars with it defending himself and attacking his enemies with a sword that was considered the most efficient weapon of the time. The curve of the blade helps in the downward force of the cutting action.

The katana sword is worn suspended with the cutting edge down and was part of the uniform of a warrior. People carried the sword thrust in their belts with the edge up and anther sword called Tachi, was worn slung across the left hip. And the signature of the designer was splashed in the side of the sword and it was worn so the signature was visible on the front and this helped in recognizing the development and function of the sword. Later on the japans Samurai found that their Samurai swords were prone to damage when used to protect the armor suits of their enemies and this is the reason that the Japanese Sword smith started to use thinner templar lines and they also started making blade that had a thicker back and bigger points.

The feudal Japanese Sword and the katana swords are associated together and are famous throughout the world for its sharpness and cutting edge ability. The quality of the steel used is simply of a very good quality and the special forging techniques make it a real masterpiece.

In Japan there are strict rules and regulations to follow if you own or in possession of the Japanese swords. Whether they are antique or modern versions that are categorized as art objects and people should have a certification of ownership if they are the rightful owners. The replicas of these samurai and katana swords are being produce don a vast scale for different countries around the world and some countries have also banned these Japanese swords because they have been used in some bank robberies.

The feature of this article is the awesome Hattori Hanzo sword from the movie Kill Bill. This sword is full tang which means it is fully functional for real sword training and use. What more it is accurately styled on the real sword from the movie so it looks and feels astonishing.

This samurai sword has a hand forged full tang blade which sets it a notch bove most replica swords. The blade is made of HRC1045 high carbon steel with an engraved signature in the blade, it also had the Kill Bill emblem engraved on the blade and appears very stylish. The handle is covered in real ray skin and has a black leather braid.

The scabbard is also very well styled and is constructed from a high quality lacquered wood with a piano finish, it also has a tasteful gold trim on each side.

This samurai sword is the perfect buy for either a sword to proudly display in your house or to use for real swordsmanship. The overall length of this samurai sword is 41 inches with the blade coming in at 29 inches. This is a good ratio of blade to handle. The blade is made from high quality carbon steel and has a high hardness rating. Overall the whole package is bundled very nicely with the scabbard and good detail in general.

A full tang, battle ready sword at a keen price it is comparable to Paul Chen swords in quality. This would be a great buy for any movie buff or for someone just getting started in buying swords. Visit TrueSword to get a better look at this sword now.

Simply treating your edged weapons with respect and care will easily keep them looking brand new for many years to come.

Every sword owner should respect and take great care of their weapons. Swords can be damaged easier than you think and although they are made of strong metal they will get scratched and dinted if struck against something equally hard. Do not strike your sword against another sword or against and hard object.

The sort of parrying you see in theatrical sword fights are not the way the sword was designed to be used. Theatrical swords have a very wide and blunt edge, this helps protect them from damage when striking another sword. Your sword on the other hand has a very delicate and sharp edge. It was designed for cutting, slicing and slashing.

Always use your newly purchased sword for its intended use, ie. do not try to cut down a tree or hack a shopping trolley to bits. Doing so is neglect to your prized weapon and will result in it being badly damaged. If you want to practice cutting movements with your sword use either a plastic bottle half filled with water or branches from a bamboo tree. Both of these or not as stable or rigid as a tree or other heavy object. Striking these objects will not cause the blade of your sword to bend or warp and you can still effectively practice your sword style.

Hi and welcome to buy sword online. This website is devoted to one thing both you and I love, Swords. Its undeniable that by buying a beautiful sword it looks spectacular when mounted in your home. It adds character to any room of your house. More so new swords are becoming available every day, this means you can really cater to your tastes when buying a sword.

This first article is going to explain to you some things you should look at when you decide to buy a sword. Firstly you must consider what are you looking for in a sword? You may be looking for a fully functional and deadly sword, while other people are interested in buying a sword for display in as an ornament in rooms of their house. This article will help you to have an educated attitude when you buy a sword.

If you want to use your new sword as a device for cutting, martial arts , swordsmanship practice or other physical tasks, you should take great care when buying sword. A good sword basically means that the metal from the handle goes all the way along the length of the sword’s blade. This type of sword are generally stronger and safer than swords with a separate handle and blade.

Maybe you just want a good looking sword to display in your house? You may not need to buy this type of sword. If yourfall into this category, you can save a large amount of money by buying a two piece sword. Maybe you are a certain type of sword enthusiasts who prefers a traditionally made sword with a full metal body even for display purposes, Although this is not necessary to have such a sword that, it will simply sit on display.

If you want to test the strength and sharpness of your new sword by doing cutting tests? I recommend buying a 1 piece sword with a carbon steel blade. Swords with carbon steel will stay sharper for longer periods of time and they also need less maintenance including sharpening. The flip side of this though is that carbon steels will rust if not cared for and treated properly. To prevent rust from occuring, constantly coat your side in a thin layer of vaseline or oil.
